The vision for "Dear Black Woman: Stories of Love, Resilience, & Empowerment" is to create a lasting impact by celebrating the strength and resilience of Black women. The book aims to serve as a source of inspiration and empowerment, encouraging readers to embrace their unique journeys and recognize their inherent worth. Through this project, we hope to contribute to a broader cultural conversation about the experiences of Black women, promoting understanding, empathy, and solidarity.

This book is set to release in April of 2025.

"Dear Black Woman: Stories of Love, Resilience, & Empowerment" is a heartfelt and powerful collaborative book project featuring personal narratives from 15 Black women. This collection aims to highlight the diverse experiences of Black women, showcasing stories of love, resilience, empowerment, and personal growth. Each story will begin with "Dear Black Woman," offering readers a deeply personal and relatable journey through the unique challenges and triumphs faced by Black women.

The project seeks to create a space where Black women can see themselves reflected in the pages, drawing strength and inspiration from the shared experiences of others. By amplifying these voices, the book aims to foster a sense of community and solidarity, encouraging readers to embrace their identity and celebrate their achievements.

Key Objectives:

  • Amplify Voices: Provide a platform for Black women to share their unique stories and perspectives, ensuring their voices are heard and valued.

  • Inspire and Empower: Offer readers stories that inspire them to overcome obstacles, embrace their strength, and pursue their dreams with confidence.

  • Build Community: Create a sense of connection among Black women, fostering solidarity and mutual support through shared experiences.

  • Promote Visibility: Highlight the diverse experiences of Black women, bringing attention to their challenges, successes, and contributions to society.

  • Personal Narratives: Each story is a first-person account, offering a genuine and intimate look into the lives of Black women.

  • Diverse Themes: Stories cover a range of themes including love, resilience, empowerment, personal growth, and overcoming adversity.

  • Professional Support: Authors receive guidance and support throughout the writing process, including professional editing, formatting, and marketing assistance.

  • Community Engagement: Opportunities for authors to participate in mini book release events in their local areas, fostering community engagement and outreach.

The total cost to be a part of this project is $650.

10 Copies of the Book

Each author will receive 10 copies of the book to share or sell.

Percentage of Book Sales

Each author will receive monthly residual payments based on book sales, ensuring ongoing earnings from their work.

Author's Responsibilities

Pre-publication

  • Author Agreement: Sign an author agreement outlining rights, responsibilities, and revenue sharing.

  • Story Submission: Write and submit a heartfelt story of love, resilience, or empowerment, starting with "Dear Black Woman."

  • Editing and Revisions: Collaborate with the editing team to make necessary revisions to ensure the story aligns with the book's theme and quality standards.

  • Communication: Maintain regular communication with the publisher and other authors.

  • Deadline Adherence: Meet all deadlines for submissions, revisions, and approvals.

Publication

  • Promotional Efforts: Work with the publisher to create promotional content and participate in marketing campaigns.

  • Profile Submission: Provide a professional bio and headshot for inclusion in the book and promotional materials.

  • Community Engagement: Engage with readers and other authors to promote and get placements for book.

Post-publication

  • Social Media Promotion: Promote the book on personal and professional social media platforms..

  • Sales Tracking: Track book sales and royalties as per the agreement.

  • Feedback and Testimonials: Collect and share reader feedback and testimonials to support ongoing marketing efforts.

  • Workshop Attendance: Participate in an empowerment workshop and the book launch event in Atlanta.

  • Photo Shoot Participation: Attend a marketing photoshoot in Atlanta, wearing the provided "Dear Black Woman" T-shirt.

  • Book Launch Events: Organize and attend mini book release events in your area with support from the publisher.
